Band News and Information
Dobson Winter Guard received their highest rating of the year while placing 6th in the Guard Scholastic AA Local class with a score of 72.15. The 2012 WGAZ Circuit Championships were held at Grand Canyon University on March 31st.

Dobson Band Parents! Time to get involved!
Elections for next years open board positions will be held at the next DBPA Meeting April 16th ! It is time for elections for the new DBPA board and we need your help! If you are a parent of an active band students, and you would like to be involved with a great group of kids, this is the place for you!

******************* We need people for the Audit and Budget teams for those who can't commit to serving on the board but want to help - this only lasts until the audit or budget is completed - no more than the end of this school year

Band Leadership Team
In the past week, auditions for drum majors (student field conductors) and section leaders have been held. This year's list of applicants went through a significant selection process and were required to submit a six-page application including: grade point average status, evaluations from all of their teachers, along with responses to a series of questions related to leadership. The band staff is proud of everyone who took the time to participate, knowing that each applicant was willing to dedicate themselves to serve others. With that in mind, I present the following selectees who are being asked to serve as part of the 2012-2013 Band Leadership Team. Congratulations to the following members:
HAIRSPRAY, The Musical
Tickets to the musical are $8.00 for single tickets, $14.00 for doubles. Seating is reserved and tickets are presold at the Dobson Bookstore (480-472-3262).
Tickets may also be purchased in the lobby of the Dobson Auditorium on the days of the performances, located at 1501 West Guadalupe Road, Mesa 85202
Costco School Shop Night!
Tentativly scheduled for May 12th. Save up your Costco shopping for Saturday May 12th and get a ream of paper donated by Costco or every $50 spent! In addition - we will have a list of items you can purchase to support the band program over the summer and the first part of next year. You will be able to purchase items for the band and place them in specials bins just for us!

As a fundraising reminder, we always have our Fry's Gift Cards available for purchase. Fry's donates 5% of our purchases back to DBPA to support our Band Programs.
Also, be sure to sign up for the "Cool Cash" program where just using your Frys card can help make the band up to $2000 this year. Check out the fundraising page!
